How Do I Care For My Implant Dentures?

Watch this video by Dr. Bruce Fine, an experienced New Jersey implant dentist, as he explains the best course of home care to make sure your implant dentures last a lifetime.

I’d like to share some important information about cavities and gum disease, as both of these issues are related to bacterial infections. Maintaining cleanliness is crucial, whether it involves your natural teeth, implants, or dentures. By keeping your oral hygiene in check, you can prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria, which in turn reduces the risk of swelling, inflammation, gum disease, and other related problems. One piece of good news is that you cannot develop cavities in your implants. However, there is a small possibility of gum disease occurring around your implants, and we want to help you avoid that.

The key is to establish a daily routine of brushing, flossing, and cleaning your implants and denture. While we generally recommend doing this twice a day, the two optimal times are before bedtime and in the morning. Cleaning your oral appliances and ensuring your mouth is free from food particles and bacteria before sleeping can help maintain oral health. Likewise, starting your day with a clean mouth is essential. Additionally, we offer a free consultation and a free CT scan to provide you with tailored solutions for your specific needs. Please feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment; we are looking forward to meeting you and helping you maintain a healthy smile. Have a great day!
